These handy size purses have been handwoven in Nepal by one of the first certified fair trade groups called “womens skills development group” based in the lakeside town of Pokhara. The cotton is woven using the traditional 3metre “backstrap” looms, and most of the women can weave the cloth from home. These funky little purses are made from all the leftover pieces of cloth and patched together so there is no waste. Therefore, each one is unique and the colour combinations will vary.
